Why do I need a facial?

A facial can help..

Clear blocked skin from; blackheads, whiteheads and small pimples, creating a clearer refreshed appearance.

Rehydrate and rejuvenate skin for a period of time.

With a better beauty regimen - An experienced therapist can advise you on your current beauty regimen to help you enjoy a more youthful glow moving forwards.

Relax - Most spa or non-equipment based facials are incredibly relaxing, and provide a nice self-pampering treat.

However, no one truly ‘needs’ a facial, but most people enjoy the results and the experience.

Can I wear makeup right after my facial?

Better to avoid applying base makeup for 24 hours after your facial for a better result. This is even more important after a cleansing treatment as your pores will have been cleared and may be sensitive after extraction. Best to give your skin time to rest and recover.

How often should I get a facial treatment?

Having a facial once every 4 - 6 weeks is recommended to help keep skin clear given the skin generally renews itself on a 28 day cycle.

What should I do prior to my facial treatment?

Arrive 5 – 10 minutes early allowing you to; arrive relaxed, unwind, use the toilet if needed, and enjoy the full treatment.

Can a facial help improve my acne-prone skin?

Depends. Severe acne cases should be served by a dermatologist to help resolve any medical conditions that may exist. For more mild cases, a thorough cleansing, and advice from your therapist on your current beauty regimen may help minimize future acne breakouts. Some redness may result from any extraction, but should subside within a day or two at most.

Can a facial help improve my dry skin?

Your facial treatment should certainly plump up your dry skin with re-hydrating serums and moisturizers, as well as providing some suggestions for your own personal beauty regimen over the longer term. Don’t forget to rehydrate with lots of fluids and minimize dehydrating drinks including caffeine and alcohol.

Can a facial help improve my aging skin?

Your facial treatment should certainly help lift and plump up your skin helping create a more youthful and rejuvenated through reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over the short term. Advice on your beauty regimen can help longer-term care and can help slow the aging process over time.

Is a facial treatment painful?

Most spa or non-equipment facial treatments should be quite relaxing. Any acne may cause discomfort during treatment, and extraction, if provided, shouldn’t be more than mildly uncomfortable. Most people enjoy their treatments, and often fall asleep.

Which facial treatment should I do?

Our experienced and knowledgeable therapists will recommend facial treatments best for you after analysing your skin and learning your concerns.

What risks are there from facial treatments?

For most spa or non-equipment related facial treatments the risks are minor, generally resulting from sensitivity to ingredients within the treatment products. In these cases the degree of redness will vary depending on the level of sensitivity. More aggressive treatments involving certain chemical peels or equipment increase possible sensitivity.

What do I need to do during my facial?

Similar to a massage, it is up to you to decide if you want to just relax in silence, or enjoy a nice chat with your therapist. However, some conversation is necessary during the consultation process to achieve best results.

Do I need to buy a treatment course?

A course of treatments may offer a discount to single treatment purchases, however it is always up to you. If you do choose a treatment course or package, beware of any expiry or time limits.

Do I need to buy products recommended?

Therapists may make ‘soft’ recommendations, but of course it is completely your choice.
